InactiveWe have solutabs. Landen has MSPI so I hope he does ok. He is actually napping peacefully. I gave it to him on an *I think* empty stomach and then fed him 1/2 an hour later. The only annoying thing was there were little beads left in the tip of the dropper. A lot of them it seemed ever AFTER the 2nd little 2ml dosage of water to try and get them out.
Now I feel like he didn’t get a good dose. I hope he did. I really want him to get good results. Don’t we all want that for our suffering refluxers? Gosh I’ve watched this poor baby suffer for over 6 weeks now.
Jill (who is probably annoying you with all the posts already!)

InactiveAre you using a syringe or a mylicon dropper? When we started using the mylicon dropper, it went much better. If we added enough water, we didn’t have a problem with them getting stuck. I think I added about 2-3 mls of water for a solutab. If you can’t get it to work that way, other moms have been able to hold the solutab on the inside of the cheek until it dissolves, and then flush it down with a bit of water.
Good luck.

InactiveOur baby is 8 weeks and we use a baby spoon! I just put the tablet on the spoon, put a little water on and drop it right in her mouth–no leftover beads!

InactiveThanks for the reply. It is a syringe that the pedi gave me with all of the samples. The instruction paper said to put the tab into the syringe and pull 4 ml of water into the syringe and once it dissolved it would create about 5ml total (it did). BUt there has to be a better way! Maybe I should try holding it in his cheek and then just giving him a bit of water. I hate that all of those precious beads were wasted! Thanks!

InactiveLike Lori mentioned, a small medicine dropper may work better. It did for me. I used to put the solutab into a small medicine cup and tilt it sideways and add about 2 mls of water. Then I’d draw it up into a small dropper (like the ones you get with infant’s Mylicon or Tylenol). Most of the times I could get all the beads into him with only two squirts and nothing was left in the dropper or the medicine cup.
I hope that helps.
Oh, and you’re definitely not annoying us. We’ve all been there.

Inactivemy solutab trick was to put it in a syringe and draw up some water. then after it had dissolved, I would hold the syringe upright with my finger on the opening and all the beads would gather at the tip opening. then when you dispense it, all the beads go in on the first try. i was so happy that this worked, as when I would shake it, I would have many beads remaining. hope this makes sense!
