Just curious, our daughter (now 3 months) is on Isomil Advance and her reflux is pretty well controlled with Zegerid. Just wondering if any of you have experience with changing from a name brand formula to a store brand formula (Parents Choice at Walmart or the store brand at Target)? From what I have researched, nutritionallly they are the same but I wondered if they made any difference with your child’s reflux. They are approximately 1/2 the price of the name brand but I don’t want to switch unless I get a little feedback from the “experts” on this board (believe me, I have learned more from all of you than I have from the doctor). I will also run it by her doctor before I would switch.

Any thoughts…

Hi Abby,

The only brands I’ve used for my reflux babies are Similac/Isomil and Parent’s Choice. I never noticed any difficulties when I switched between Similac and Parent’s Choice with my reflux babies. I did have difficulties with powder formula, though. For some reason when I tried powder in either brand their reflux would get worse, at least until they were about 9 months old. Then I could use the powder without it bothering them.

I am currently using Parent’s Choice (Wal mart) Soy w/ Lipids formula. She takes it as well as anything else (she throws them all up anyway ). I know a few mom’s that use it with no problems, and I found the same things as you when I researched it.
