I think this is very normal! Griffin went through that and it happened when Owen was very sick.
He would yell and stutter at the same time and my DH was sure that there was something wrong with him.
I think he was just as stressed as we were with Owen always needing my attention and always crying. It lasted about 2-3 months, but the funny thing was daycare said he rarely did it there. I think it was b/c he could easily get the teachers attention and there was less stress there and Owen wasn’t around!
Since you mentioned that it happened with the room change at daycare, that could have been a real stresser for him……..
I also remember my nephew doing it to. He is 6 now and it was around 2 or 3 when he did it and we all were concerned but once again he talks just fine now.
The SLP that I work with says as long as it’s not constant and it doesn’t last more than a few months, don’t worry about it.
Griffin’s new thing is overpronouncing words. Everything takes him forever to get out because he drags out every word! Funny the things they go through.
I think it’s very normal. My pedi even mentioned it when we were there for Griffin’s 3 yr check that it is a phase they can go through about now……
Just some thoughts……
