Well, Miss Alexis had her surgery on tuesday as planned the surgery itself went very well. Recovery is another story! We have a very stubborn little girl! We were to be in the hospital for 1 night which didn’t happen. The ENT only RX oral medications Amoxil and Tylenol w/codeine and continue her Prevacid 15 mg and of course she refused to swallow anything she just spit everything out. Thank GOD the Peds MD is a great friend of mine, she stepped up and made sure that Alexis had the proper pain meds, She started her on IV push morphine which helped with the pain but unfortunately this little one has very high pain medication tolerance like her daddy it didn’t make her sleepy at all! It should have knocked her out but of course not that simple, at least it help with some of the pain. She switched the Prevacid to Pecid BID IV push as well. On top of her pain from surgery her reflux really acted up! She was in so much pain she wouldn’t even swallow her own spit, she would let it pool up in mouth then just let is drool out, needless to say a horrible sight. Anyways, we ended staying in the hospital for 2 nights which was really needed so she could get her proper pain medications and hydration. On day 2 they even stopped her IV all day to see if she would drink or eat anything, she refused everything and forcing syringes of water in her mouth just ended with all the water in our faces since she would just spit it all right back at us. Even the morning of day 3 she only took sips of water with a lot of forcing and eventually ate 6 ziti noodles not quite enough to go home but our MD was willing to let her go home and she if she does better, only with the promise of returning to the hospital if she doesn’t drink or eat anything. So we are finally home, she is in much better spirits, taking her meds orally, haven’t tried the prevacid yet but she ate 2 goldfish on her own and 1 chocolate coin an a few sips of water (at this point I don’t care what she eats a long as she is willing to do so!) So hopefully she is willing to eat and drink more and more each day, I can’t believe how much weight they can loss, you can see her ribs, it’s horrible. Anyways, thanks for all the thoughts and prayers, we really appreciate it and needed it. We have a rough road ahead of us but with the help of everyone we will get through it, Thank you again everyone for your support through these days and more to come!

Good news overall that the surgery went well. Hopefully you can find some time to take care of yourself as well. Thanks for the update.
