Well, after over a year of happily taking her Zegerid, little Miss Crabby Abby has decided she wants to boycott taking her Zegerid. All this time, we have been using the 20mg packets and giving it to her in an ounce of formula. Never had a problem until Abby developed her latest “Abbitude”. So I contacted Dr. Phillips at Marci-kids for advice (THANK GOD FOR THEM!!!) and he suggested putting her on the 40mg packets, mixing the packet with 6.5 ml of water which would make 10ml of 4mg/ml mixture. Abby will then get 3ml of Zegerid along with 3ml of Mylanta Cherry Supreme (which she loves) so hopefully it will make it more appealing to her. The pharmacy couldn’t get it in until today so we will try it tonight. She has been doing really great but any night she refuses the med, I notice she doesn’t sleep as well (tossing, turning, wimpering) and wakes up earlier than normal and crabby. Hopefully it will work – otherwise it will have to be plan B, which I am not sure what that would be yet.
Haven’t been around as much lately as I have been spending alot of time on another board (totally unrelated to the reflux topic) but that is a totally different topic. No matter what, I just can’t seem to pull myself away from all my friends here!!
