Hi all

So I have an odd question….Audrey is now 8 months about and is going to her ped gi again in two weeks (she still cant eat food/MFPI)…anyways I am thinking of switching to prevacid solutabs from compounded omprazole (prilosec)…I was doing zegerid but it was too much $$, so I switched to prilosec…well, she hates it, spits it out…I have tried every trick in the book, I was putting it in a 2 oz bottle to get it to her, but then she refuses the bottle, and well we cant have that since she cant do solids…

has anyone had luck? I know if I do to be sure to get the right dose…I just want to see if its worked for anyone….or if a different form of prevacid would be better?

My children both did not do well on the solutabs. I don’t know if it was the lactose, the aspertime, or the strawberry flavoring, but neither could tolerate it. I think I would do it just as a trial to see. Others have had lots of success on them, though, so it will be trial and error no matter what you try….

Myles did great on the solutabs. He did have some initial cramping from it but he adjusted to it in about two weeks and did great from then on.

Adriana did good on the solutabs too. But it will take 2 weeks to see the effect and those 2 weeks can be tough. Adriana actually likes her medicine now and gets excited when I am about to give it to her.

THe solutabs are working well for Dagney, and she LOVES the taste! She gets really antsy when she sees the syringe for it, she can’t wait to suck it down!

Thanks for the sucess stories…Im a little leary since in the begining (at 2 weeks we were on them) but I think our problem then was timing…but now since she pretty much eats around the same time I think the timing will be easier

Hailey did much better on prevacid then on prilosec. We haven’t been able to use the solutabs due to her feeding problems, but we put it in CaraCream. It works well for her.
