InactiveOkay, don’t really need anything but understanding!
Owen has been soooooo GRUMPY! I think it’s teeth, but Griffin just never went through this, he just had bad bouts of diarrhea when he popped a tooth!
It is non stop whine from morning until night it seems like for the past few days….. YET, not a tooth in sight! I know being the second child it could be months before I see a tooth as Griffin didn’t get any until 10 1/2 mo.

I think I might be insane by then! I don’t want to drug him up but my sister is a ped nurse and told me he really needs it right now and to alternate tylenol/ibueprofen. I don’t think that’s a great long term plan! Also she had a MILD refluxer and I really don’t think she gets how different Owen is…….

Any suggestions of what worked for your kids? He is chewing on everything and biting my fingers like crazy and then ripping around on things like a teething dog!

InactiveI know what you mean about not wanting to give tylenol EVERY night. It’s so hard! Thankfully baby orajel works fairly well for Sarah (as a temp. fix anyway). Keep in mind too that sometimes reflux can flare while teething. After trying everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) to help her through her first tooth, I finally tried mylanta and was floored that she calmed down. I upper her reflux meds slightly and didn’t hear another peep out of her! TWO teeth wound up popping through within a few days. I have also heard that rubbing benadryl on the gums helps and Hylands teething tablets have worked too. I know you don’t want to give meds 24/7 but sometimes a cold teething ring just doesn’t cut it! Good luck and hang in there!

InactiveTwo of my three babies were horrible teethers; miserable and whining day and night with each and every tooth. I hated to give tylenol and motrin 24/7 but my sanity was at stake so I did it when needed.

Fortunately I found that for most teeth there would a few bad days, followed by a few not so bad days, followed by some good days, and then maybe a few bad days again, and so on until the tooth finally popped out, so in reality the tylenol and motrin was usually only around the clock for a few days at a time. Usually what worked best for us was Motrin before bedtime and once more during the day, and tylenol twice a day.
The hylands teething tablets helped some, but only at bedtime for some reason.

InactiveOh yes, I think the reflux is flaring b/c he was coughing a lot last night in his sleep and that was what he did A LOT before his reflux was under control. Also, everything in his bed smelled like rotten milk this morning so I know he puked. Although he didn’t wake up ever so the acid must be under control! Thank goodness!
The sweet young girl at daycare when I picked him up tonight said he was a little fussy. I’m sure he must have been a bear b/c even when he was really sick with the MSPI/reflux stuff she never really said anything.

Good thing is he sleeps like a charm! Been in bed since 6:45 and won’t be up till the morning!

InactiveAnother bad teether (and late teether) in this house. Alana got her first two teeth a week or so ago. The whinging was driving me insane. I use ibuprofen mostly…and like Christine said, it didn’t turn out to be every day because there would be some days of calm amongst the storm. I also like the hylands teething tablets and the oral gel.

InactiveI was going to mention the hylands teething tablets. I just ordered some myself to have on stock for when Coop starts his teething. From what I have read review wise they sound wonderful. You may want to give them a shot. I ordered mine from one step ahead, I am not sure if you can just buy them anywhere or not. Good Luck.
