Inactivethank you to everyone and there advice. it’s sad to know that reflux issuchch a prevelant thing and that i had never really known how bad it really can get. Grace is going to the GI specialist on thurs. Hopefully they can figure something out. The only concern that i have is that this is the same specialist that saw her the first time that she was hospitalized around 14 days old. they had done some tests in the emergency room and saw reflux. the specialist only saw her for a couple of minutes and that was it. hopefully he will be more proactive this time around. also i just wanted to say that my grandmother and my aunt had celiac disease but grace doesnt; really have the symptoms for it. i feel so bad for my 4 year old because i never have quality time for him anymore. sorry that i am rambling on but i have no time in my life to type anymore with the reflux going on. thanks to everyone!!!!!

InactiveGood luck and keep us posted.
Your 4 year old will be fine. I had two refluxers, my second and third babies. My poor first child really had to give up a lot, and both girls got very little of mommy for the first 6 months of Myles’ life. But, they really are fine, very happy, and they adore their brother. Very small amts of time make a big difference, so even if you can only spend a few minutes here and and a few minutes there doing something with him, it will make a big difference in how he feels.
I hoipe your appt goes well on Thursday.

InactiveYes, good luck with your appointment. I know how you feel about having no time for your older one. I had my two quite close together… Sarah was 20 months when Hailey was born, and her reflux was so bad that I felt that Sarah really missed out on my time for the first year of Hailey’s life. I had a lot of guilt, but then realized that you do the best that you can. And like Christine said, even small amounts of time doing something special is meaningful. Sarah seems fine and really loves Hailey despite all the difficult times we’ve had. So hang in there.

InactiveI agree with Lori and Christine. Kayla was 4 when Abby was born and I think I felt more guilty about it than Kayla felt neglected. They are tough little troopers – little bits here and there make ALL the difference!!

InactiveHi and welcome,
I’m glad you have an appointment with a GI. I hope you can find some answers. I know how you feel about your older son. I have two older sons who also don’t get as much attention as they should. It’s hard.
Good luck with your appointment, and keep us posted! -
