out of that post .. i thought of another question, so i thought to post a new topic though.

i thought to ask if anyone knows if its o.k to keep mixing the goats and rice milk together. and if so , is it o.k to keep them refrigerated together.

for instance, i have a cooler pack that keep the bottles cold for 12 hrs. and i am going on a road trip.. so i was going to make the bottles ahead of time and store them in there. is it o.k to keep them mixed together for a length of time.

sorry if this was a dumb question. i just dont know anyone that mixes.

I mix goats milk with neocate and I make it 50/50. I make 24 oz and it usually lasts me 24 hrs, sometimes less, I usually make it in the evening for the next day. I have never had any problems thus far.

Since I use powdered of everything, I will mix it all together and then just add the water when I’m ready to use. I do that for anyone who keeps Owen for extended periods. I’m sure you probably use RTF for everything, so I’m not sure what to tell you. Sounds fine to me though.

At first I would always taste the milk before I gave it too him b/c I was paranoid about it “spoiling” or getting rotten. Now, I know it’s okay for 24 hrs at least. I’ve never went longer than 24hrs though before making new.

I think you would definitely be fine mixing the two as long as you’re keeping them cold until you use them.

Funny you mentioned that since I had the same problem or thought process as you. We started mixing Taylor’s RCF (which I have to mix with brown rice syrup and water etc) which becomes a RTF type of formula and now we add Whole milk to it 50/50 to slowly introduce milk and see if we can make the switch to 100% milk. Anyways, I always fill her bottles with the 50/50 right before I give her one, but lately with our trips out I have just been pre-mixing everything and keeping it in a cooler. So far no problems, so I think you could do the same with the goats milk and rice milk. I don’t know why it would make a difference if it was pre-mixed I don’t think it changes anything, but for odd reason I questioned it as well!
