InactiveHave any of you found that fixing the bed at an inclining is actually a disservice?? My son, though not sleeping great during his naps, does seem to sleep okay at night. However, at around 4 or 5 am, he will start to make noise, not crying, but noise.. when we go in to check, he has moved himself down the bed, often sideways or even worse, upside down. Certainly, this can’t be helping keep the acid down, and he often has his face wedged in the corner. He wakes again around 6 or so, and it’s the same thing. We spend those morning hours repositioning him all the time. Any thoughts???

Inactiveshane too… i have been thinking that as well.
i dont think the incline is even high enough in the 1st place to make much a difference, and by a couple hours into the night he slides off of it anyhow. and i see him toss and turn all night, so it probably doesnt help. your lucky he sleeps till 6 at least… shanes been waking at 3, than 4, than 5.. than plays… its driving us crazy!
. does ben still toss and turn all night? and is he on his belly?

Inactiveour daughter is still sleeping on an inclined matress…(we have books under one end). She probably doesn’t need it right now, but we have found that sometimes she acutally prefers sleeping with her head upside down…however, it doesn’t seem to effect her reflux. I don’t think there is any harm in trying to remove the incline for a few days…if he gets worse…you can always put it back. That is what we did.

InactiveI don’t know about the tossing and turning… I don’t hear him doing that anyway until around the 4 or 5 mark. He is on his belly already, and def. prefers it. Today he actually made it until about 7:30, after several half wakings of course! I was thrilled, but his napping still is a problem. Lauren, I’ve been meaning to ask you if Shane is doing better during his naps. Is he taking 2 or 3 a day? Maybe he is ready to start eating some cereal. Maybe that’s why he is waking so much at night??? Right now, Ben will sleep his first nap okay, the second is a crap shoot and the third is no more than 30 minutes to the dot and he is a cranky bear until bedtime.

InactiveHave you tried some white noise in his room? I really think it helps my kids sleep better.

Inactivehey naomi,
sorry i missed your post.. and read your other one 1st… and posted on there about shanes sleep! haha.
well.. no his naps are not very good still.. once in a while he will extend beyond the 30 minute mark. but mostly 2 30 min naps… rough i know.. and yes he has had cereal in his bottle since 2 mos. than i spoon fed it at 4 mos. and now he does everything! veggies, fruit, oatmeal. soo i dont think thats it. his doc thinks its just from being uncomfortable from the reflux coming up all the time, and wakes him up a lot. and at 4 o’clock now, his new thing is to PLAY!!! i cant believe it! untill 5! and than sleep till 6 if i am lucky!
and we use a sound machine, it seems to help a bit as well
are you feeding ben during the night?

InactiveI also use a sound machine in his room. I do think it helps a little. Our house is small, so mostly I think it helps him not hear everything else in the house. I don’t feed him at night anymore. He dropped that feeding about 2 weeks ago… thank God! He is eating only about 5-6 times a day now, and I think he trying to drop the 6th one too. I am worried that he is too young for this, but we’ll see. I hope he starts sleeping better soon too! I would love to actually spend some time with my other child once and awhile!
