InactiveSorry, no advice on the tucker wedge/sling. I didn’t have one.
As for waking every two hours to feed at six weeks of age, I’d say it’s still ok for most babies. For my three it was between 6 and 8 weeks that they started sleeping through a four or five hour stretch, so hopefully it’s not too far off for you.
For now I’d try laying him down awake but groggy. That’s how I taught all of my babies to sleep well in their own beds. If you consistently wait until they are sound asleep and then gingerly lay them down without waking them, you do get them used to falling asleep nursing or in your arms. So, it acually might be a good thing that he wakes up some when you are putting him in the sling. My babies didn’t have a sling but I used to jostle them a little or kiss them a few times to make sure they were awake enough to know they were being put down. Sometimes they’d wake and cry and I’d just pat their backs until they fell back to sleep. It is easier to put them down sound alseep, but in the long run it’s better to let them fall asleep in the crib because they will know how to fall asleep on their own.

InactiveI agree that he probably still needs to eat that often at that age, but soon that could change!
What I started to do was wait just a minute before going in to him when he would cry. At about 9 weeks, Ben started to cry for just a minute, but would go back to sleep. I remember vividly walking in his room to get him, reaching my hands in the crib and then pulling them out with disbelief because he was back to sleep! He just dropped his feedings at night one by one that way.

InactiveI agree with Christine for the sleeping tip. it would also help settle him in the tucker sling while he is sleepy , but not sound at sleep.
I also followed the guidelines of the (but sometimes i changed things as i saw fit for my baby) “Baby Wise” book. kendra started sleeping 5 hours at a time by 9 weeks. i fed her at 10pm and again at 3am, then 6 and every 3 hours after that. At 12 weeks she was slepping 7 hours. and 16 weeks 9 hours and so on. i am thankful sleeping wa snot an issue with reflux. i am sure the tucker sling helped a lot.
i hope this help.

InactiveThanks. Right now he is taking naps on the tucker wedge / sling in his crib and sleeping with me on my chest at night. I want to transition to him sleeping in the crib at night at well but maybe once he starts to sleep longer, like 3 – 4 hours between feedings. It’s been tough lately because he has been grunting and groaning in his sleep, maybe I need to give his last dose of prilosec later?
