I held off the 15 month vaccine for Brian due to his feeding issue (it took 1 1/2 month for him to recover and eat normal again after vaccine shot). He is going to have his 18 month chech up soon (he should have 3 shot this time). His ST suggests that to give him one shot per month, I know some mom here does that for their little one, do you notice that your baby have less side effect from receiving shot separately? Thank you.

Sharon, I didn’t know that vaccines affect feeding. Is it possible that something else was bothering Brian when he had his last vaccine?

Hi guys –

We used to find that the vaccines would cause Owen to go on a feeding strike, particularly back in the real early days. It would happen two days after his shots and would last for a day or so – not too long, but long enough to completely freak us out. When I told his nurses that had happened they told me they had never heard of anything like that before, but I swear it happened for at least his first few rounds of shots.

Sharon, you may find that now that he’s older it won’t be as bad – that’s what we found with Owen now. At his last shots (15 months) we didn’t notice any kind of reaction at all.

Lori – Brian’s eating got really bad every time after he received vaccine shot ever since his 4 month shot, I think the pain from the shot effect his eating.
