InactiveI’m sorry that things are still so hard. My daughter did the same thing. She’d wake up crying in pain countless times every night and I could see that she desperately wanted to sleep. She’d keep her eyes closed and just whimper.

I hope the Reglan helps him. It does help some babies. I do wonder though if an increase in his Zegerid or a switch to Prevacid might make a difference.
Good luck and please keep us posted.

InactiveI think there is also some other DGE med…erythromyacin or something like that…that supposedly doesn’t have the side effects for Reglan…maybe you could ask for that. Sorry, I am not a pro at what things are called…maybe someone else can chime in. I hope reglan helps.

Inactiveone more thing…I am sure you are already doing this, but it is worth mentioning…are you avoiding hidden dairy and soy as well? For Briannna even when I would eat hidden dairy or soy, she would be up every three hours or so…but when I took that out…she slept through the night.

InactiveB’s mom: Thanks for mentioning the hidden dairy and soy. But I know neither he or I are getting any dairy/soy of any sort. I am still on a modified elimination diet and only have a short list of foods I can eat and he has about 1/2 dozen foods he can have himself. I read labels diligently and carefully make sure Andrew doesn’t accidently get into Elizabeth’s foods. But, thanks for the reminder anyway.

InactiveI figured as much, but I thought it was worth mentioning just in case. Keep us posted on how he does.

InactiveWell, last night was one of our worst since before we found out about his food intolerances. Back then, when he was getting all of the wrong proteins through my breastmilk, he would cry while trying to pass gas and would twist and turn – apparently with crampings – and was unable to lay down and go to sleep until either he was completely overtired or pain-free. Well, last night, he was back to that. His wakings were definitely not his typical reflux pain. Mylanta did nothing. The only thing that worked was nursing him until he fell deeply asleep. Nursing always seemed to help him pass gas (maybe the sucking). He didn’t pass gas while nursing last night but frequently pulled off to cry and thrash around and then would want to suck/sleep again.
I don’t know if the generic Reglan is the problem or if it is something else. (I haven’t given him any more today.) I called Walgreens and they gave me the list of ingredients and the manufacturer’s name. I called them and their paperwork shows the med to be free of gluten, soy, and any animal product (including dairy). Maybe the med is not the problem. Maybe I ate something or he got ahold of some food he shouldn’t have eaten. But normally, his reaction is a skin rash and happy sleeplessness.
Why…why…don’t these kiddos come with an owner’s manual????

Amen to that.
The only thing I have found helps in working out what is what is time…but boy does that time move slowly sometimes.
I don’t know anything about Reglan but if that is the only thing you know you have done different then I would think that hypothesis is a reasonable one to start of with.
I hope things improve soon.
