I’m thankful to say it’s been several months since Sarah has had a stuffy nose…but I think our luck has run out. She is congested! UGH! Can someone remind me which is better to help her breathe, a warm mist or cold mist humidifier? We have both I just wasn’t sure which one would be better for her. I know she is going to have difficulty sleeping because she sucks her thumb to fall asleep and you can’t do that when you can’t breathe! I’m bracing myself for some sleepless nights…I just want to do everything I can for her. Thanks!
We always had a warm one growing up, but, for some reason, I’ve been told that the cool mist works better. I totally can’t remember why. Poor baby.. I used some baby vicks type stuff when Ben had his last cold just about a week ago, and it worked really well.
My mom always says cold mist and I don’t remember why either??? Also I love vics vapo to rub on their chest. It always just seems to keep the cough from being “tight” if ya know what I mean. Hope she’s feeling better soon. We’ve had a run of cough/congestion too as grandma was sick last week and gave it to us all! Not looking forward to the winter here!
i think because germs live in the warm air vs. cold.. maybe something along those lines?? haha..i could be totally wrong though!
and amy, shane just kinda caught something too i think.. i have a soar throat and so do other kids in my family.. i think something is going around. also.. i would like to know the difference between vaporizer and humidifier!? could vaporizer be warm too?
I hope sarah feels better! I think dagney has a little cold, too. She seems to have a little congestion, and her nose has been runny and yucky the last few days, but then again I’m not sure if it’s from teething or not. I have the cool mist humidifier I almost set up tongiht, but we need a new filter thingie for it, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed she isn’t really sick or doesn’t get any worse!
