Sorry I’m kinda late posting on this – I don’t know if you bought anything yet, but you can get a probiotic at Wal-mart from the pharmacist (it’s over the counter, but you have to ask the pharmacist). It’s called Culturelle. Hope that helps!

Heather – Well that’s frustrating b/c I just talked to the pharmacist at Wal Mart last night and he was a big idiot. I was asking about probiotics for babies and he said he doesn’t think there are any approved for babies and he didn’t know what to recommend. DUH!!! I KNOW there is such a thing. He kept looking at me like I was stupid. I only talked to him b/c I happened to be over by the pharmacy, but I am SOOOO glad that is not where I fill my prescriptions. He had NO clue what he was talking about. Thanks for the name of it though…I’m going there today after school so maybe I’ll drop the actual name of the probiotic and see if I get anywhere.

Amy – It’s actually meant for adults, and comes in capsules, but our GI doc recommended it for Bryce. He told us just to open each capsule and sprinkle about 1/4 of it into his food per day. The package has 30 pills, so when you divide it that way it lasts for 4 months. I bet you can get it at any pharmacy. Wal-mart is just where we went.

our health food store has probiotics for newborn-to age 5. special for babies-kids. so that guy was very wrong.

I use Nature’s Way Primadophillus. I ordered it on line and it is in powder form so I just mix it in his morning milk. Here is a link:

oh ya all the natures ways brands are great.. thats a good one. mine is maxi baby-dophilus, the natures way and the jarrow dophilus are the ones i see at the health food stores the most. well hopefully you’ll get it soon! and i would give it to her even when she isnt on the antibiotics every once in a while, expecially because she is on meds and it helps digest the food well, thats why i give it to shane. And we go to Wild Oats health food store, its a chain, if you want you can find it online and you can get other things if u are ever interested in anything else from a health food store.
