InactiveHi Karen-
Thanks for checking in. Much better (except for sleep last night-he was very restless and kept whimpering/crying while sleeping-v. heartwrenching).Overall-much improved demeanor. Eating….well eating is eating. Bottles are ok in front of tv, solids better then yesterday. He took about 2 oz of pears this am and we are trialing apple (1 tsp). I’m going to try to give him some squash after he wakes up but am not too optimistic. We go to the feeding clinic again tomorrow and I’m hoping they can guide us in a good feeding schedule. I really feel like we need to drop a bottle. He’s not taking a ton of food so I know he needs the elecare but at the same time, it’s so difficult timing everything out. It’s like he never has a chance to even get hungry. Plus with the prevacid, we have to stop all eating by 4pm to get him his meds by 6:30pm (empty stomach). Then we feed him at 7 and it can take the whole hour to get him to eat. I’m also going to talk to them about that. I mean, should we just stop if he only takes 1-2 oz, or try for another 20 min, then end there? Or should we take the whole hour because he does end up eating more that way-he will go back and forth to it. But this is a new habit of the last month and a half, so maybe we’re encouraging it by letting him graze (although I don’t want to have nightwakings for food and how much can you really train them at this age?). Sorry-I just went off in a completely different directions. Anyways, we’re feeling better. His nose is letting out lots of gunk so we’re confident it’s a virus. Poor fella-seems like he got hit with two of them right in a row!
We just ordered a bunch of food from healthy times! We’re going to still use jars for some foods because of my work situation (although I would prefer to make it truthfully-always makes me feel like a mommy). We’re going to try pumpkin next! I read that it’s great for constipation…
How’s Marisa’s trial doing so far?? Bet she’s enjoying something yummy instead of these hypoallergic icky smelling things.

InactiveYes, definitely sounds like a virus. I bet eating will come roaring back when the virus leaves.
I’m glad you go to the feeding clinic tomorrow – let me know what they
have to say. I agree – it’s hard to fit everything in. We are already
down to 18 ounces/day and Ped doesn’t want us to go lower on regular
basis until she can have dairy (yogurt, cheese, etc). But we have to
separate out Marisa’s meals and bottles (three of each) by 1.5-2 hours
or she’ll refuse on or the other. So it doesn’t leave much time to get
hungry – I’ll be happy when we can go to two bottles.Hard to say with trial so far as she’s only had a total of 11 ounces so
far today and so only like 1.25 ounces Enfamil. But nothing out of
ordinary so far. Fingers crossed. She doesn’t seem to notice the taste
difference yet – but then again, she liked the Alimentum well enough
taste wise. Can your pharmacy order Caracream (if they carry FlavorX) and you can then not have the timing issues?
