What are your thoughts?

I am not sure if I am allowed to do this here or not (some message boards have specific areas but I’m new 😉 ).

Anyway, I see a lot of links between MSPI/Reflux and my daughter of 18 months.

Especially interesting to me were the references to the “allergic shiners” and “denni morgan lines”. I remember a very long time ago (well it seems a long time ago) asking her doctor about her “baby bags” under her eyes and he shrugged and said thats just her makeup/how she is. Now having snapped a photo of her in the throes of this recent massive flare up – I am really thinking these are “allergy eyes”. If I link you to a picture, would you mind giving me your thoughts on this. Still gathering info for our doctor appointment on Monday.

I’ve heard of that connection too; bags under the eyes and allergies. I don’t know much about it though. If she has those circles under eyes even when she’s well rested and not sick, then I think it’s worth investigating whether she may have allergies or not. Though most docs will tell you that allergy testing is not very reliable in toddlers.

I’m not sure about the eyes, but I agree with Christine- if she has them all the time, even when she’s not sick, then it might be worth looking into. Have you ever considered diet/mspi in the past?

My son, who is almost 14 months, has this exact same problem~! It started almost two months ago, and we have no idea why. He had the blood test done for food and outdoor allergies, and the test just showed allergy to eggs. We have taken eggs out of his diet for over a month, and he STILL has the bags and lines under his eyes. They look exactly like your daughter’s eyes, and my son has reflux too. We are taking him to the Allergist on Tuesday, as we suspect he is allergic to more than what showed up on the blood test. He is around cats and dogs too, which makes me wonder if it is that. He’s been on nutramigen since he was 2 months old. So, we doubt it’s that. He’s also been on prevacid for that same amount of time. So, we also doubt it’s that. Who knows!! Let me know what you find out though. I will let you know what we find!!
