My son is 4 months old and I wanted to try probiotics for my sons reflux. We are still trying to find the correct medicines for him, and I wanted to try this while we wait for our GI specialist app. Can anyone tell me the brands and dosages. Are they at all health food stores? How have your children done on these? Thank you in advance.

I buy Baby Jarro-dophilus. I buy it from a health food store and its in the refrigerated section. It is dairy free and specially formulated for babies. The label suggest 1/4 tsp per day. However, I always started out on 1/8 tsp for a week, then moved up to the full dosage. I wanted to give Noah’s belly a chance to adjust to the probiotics before giving him the full dosage.

Thanks for the information. My ds has started to take less of his bottles than he normally does. Will the probiotics help? I am not sure why he all of a sudden started this. Maybe is reflux is hurting since we are still trying to find the right meds. We were on Zantac since 1 month old and he has maxed out on the dosage. We tried Prevacid and it caused so many problems…bad gas, not sleeping, stomach pains, and taking less bottle. So now we are waiting to see the GI specialist and we are on Axid now. Do you think the probiotics will help with his eating. Will it help with the reflux?
