InactiveOk, I am going to try to make this short, but I do not know if I will be able to……so here I go.Last weekend my husband ended up with the flu and was in bed for the majority of Sunday. On Monday, I woke up feeling pretty crappy. I left work within the first hour because I felt like I was going to
. So I came home and slept…..that night my DH saw some hives on my son’s back. I thought that they were from him rolling around in the grass at school (he is allergic to grass) and he denied he did because he did not want to get in trouble. He took a shower and it seemed like they went away. So the following day, I stayed home because I really could not get up……..I actually slept from 7:00 am (helped DH with kids) to 1:45 pm. When I went to pick up my son from the place he is dropped off at, he came and showed me his arm. I looked at his arm and he had HUGE welts all over. They even extended all the way around the trunk of his body. His knuckles were so swollen you only knew there were knuckles because there were red circles where they were supposed to be. I called doc’s office and they told me they could not see him the following day at noon……..ok, I was NOT going to wait 24 hours….especially when his lips were getting swollen. So I took him the ER…….I explained what I thought it was and they gave him some Benedryl to help with the hives and itching.
The doc concluded that the amoxicillan he was taking for strep throat was causing these welts…….which of course meant he is allergic to anything with penicillan. She put him on a course of Prednisone, Benedryl and Zithromax (for strep throat).
Then yesterday when I picked up my daughter, her daycare teacher said that she was a little bit clingy. When I got home, I noticed that her hair was matted to her ear (she has ear tubes). Right away I knew, she had an ear infection……..UGH!!!! Will it ever end
?Thanks for listening ladies!!!!

Inactivei am kind of giggling here—-not that i am insensitive, but because i have had things like this happen more than once. i think that i once had 5 children running fevers. i have been at the doctor’s office with one child, only to have my kids call me from home because one of the little one’s had fallen and cut her head open—-i had to go bring her back for stitches. i’m sure things will get better for you in a few days!!!!

InactiveUggg…
I know how you feel. I was up cleaning puke and bathing Myles last night due to a stomach bug, the girls both have miserable colds, dh is sick and he never helps anyway
and I’m just getting over a virus myself. It just never ends!
I hope you and your family are all feeling better soon.

InactiveWell ladies….guess what? I spent my morning on Mother’s Day at the Urgent Care for me
?!?!?! Last night I just could not sleep, I actually thought I was having a heart attack, but soon realized I had pulled a muscle coughing. The doc told me to stay home for the next 2 days otherwise expect to get pnemonia…..so I am staying home. He put me on the Z-pack. I ended up having a really bad sinus infection. And I do know how this happened……there is a lot of you know what going on at work (finding out who really has your back) and with my dad’s surgery, my immune system is just exhausted.
Thanks for listening!

InactiveI’m so sorry that this is all happening right now. You must be so exhausted and disheartened. Hang in there, and I hope that things improve soon.
I’ve always found that once the bad times are over, they are almost always followed by some really really good times.
Hopefully this will be the case for you.May 14, 2007 at 12:36 pm #33142Anonymous

InactiveYuck! I’ve had lousy sinus infections. They really make you feel miserable. Stress really can lower your immunity, so try to take care of yourself. I hope you’re feeling better soon.
