Inactivejust in case anyone is interested——and hasn’t been offended by me,LOL, i thought i would tell you what is happening in our crazy household. reflux just never leaves us alone—my reflux has flared with a vengeance—stress, i guess. the other day i took 2 bites of an apple and was uncomfortable for hours. the doc suggested today that i should probably see the surgeon and have a scope done.
tianna tried to go off of her prevacid, but it didn’t work.
kassie still has breakthrough acid problems even on prevacid.
sylvia continues to remain reflux free and healthy, although right now she is drawing on her forhead with an ink pen.
tianna is relapsing a little bit with her eating disorder and has lost a little weight—the ped gi is running some blood work just to check things out. i am switching her to our family doc for medical monitoring instead of the nurse practitioner she has been seeing out of town. we liked her, but i need to simplify things a bit for my own sanity.
ian has been in a play these last 2 weeks. they are doing “alladin Jr”. ian plays the genie—blue painted face and everything. he is a riot when he does the part. all the main parts are double cast, so he trades off with someone else for different performances. i haven’t seen the other genie, but someone told me he doesn’t even compare to ian. tomorrow is homecoming, and ian’s date for the night is “jasmine”

InactiveThanks for the update! I am sorry about the stress – i had a reflux flare-up at Christmas and i remember it as awful. I am just hoping i don’t get it back and it was really thursh…although i do have a cardias that does not close all teh way, so waiting for the day the reflux shows up – good luck with teh endo if they decide to go ahead with it
I am sorry about Tianna – i lived through it with my sister and it is draining – but i guess you have to focus on teh longer term and not the day to day weight checks etc etc (i know it is easier said than done).

InactiveGee…I was hoping things get easier as they get older.

I’m sorry to hear about Tianna relapsing some. It must be so hard for you…for all of you. Is she still getting therapy? When I was going through it I found Group Therapy to be the most helpful. Actually I hated it at the time, but in retrospect it’s what helped the most and it’s where I got the most insight into why I was doing what I was doing.
Reflux sure has hit your family hard.
I’m glad to hear Sylvia is better. I hope the rest of you are reflux free one day, too.Good luck with your scope if you decide to do it. What options do they have for treatment for you?

InactiveThanks for the update, Christine. I am sorry that your family just can’t seem to catch a break from all of these GI issues. I’m sure that it is so stressful. I’m also sorry that Tianna is still having trouble, and I’ll be praying for you that she stays on the right track. I’m glad that Sylvia is doing well… as for the drawing on the forehead, all I can say is LOL!!!! (that’s what I do these days when I look at the back of Hailey’s head that has a bald spot the size of a grapefruit!!!)
I’m glad that you’re finding time to enjoy the little triumphs in life like Ian’s performance. I find it so wonderful when your child has a talent, whatever that may be… watching it, and seeing them in their element is really one of the most amazing things. As for the dating, and PROM night…. YIKES!!!…l all I can say is that I don’t even want to think about that yet… especially with girls!!! But that’s a whole other topic!
Whenever you take the time to come online and I think about some of the things that you’re going through, I’m reminded of what a strong person you are. I often can’t handle my two, let alone a whole bus full like you have. Thanks again for the update.
Thanks again for the update

InactiveI hope things get better for your family! I can’t imagine having more than one going through all of this with MFPI and GER…you are a strong gal!
And yes, LOL about Sylvia…kids!
Good luck with everything!

InactiveThanks for the update. Sorry your family continues to struggle with the reflux and Tianna’s eating disorder. I admire how you handle it all so well. Lori stated she can barely handle her two, well, I can barely manage with one!! That is so cute about Sylvia though and great about Ian too (although the dating will probably bring a different kind of worry!
) Take care. October 2, 2006 at 3:19 pm #14750Anonymous
InactiveI am always wondering how your doing! Thanks for the update!! You are so great to all of us, I just wish I could offer help. Good luck with the scope, I think it is a great idea and let us know how what it says. Your a strong woman that I have always admired! Take care of yourself and those special little ones, they have a great mommy!

Inactivechristine i just wanted to applaud you for your strength. i know how hard it is to deal w/ reflux and on top of that a eating disorder. i have a eating disorder myself, and have had one for 15 years. she has a fantastic mother who will help her get through this and someday it will be a thing of the past, best wishes

InactiveChristine,
Like the others, I’m so glad to hear from you, and hope that things continue to improve with everyone’s reflux. You set such a wonderful example for all of us of a strong capable mother, who can laugh in the midst of all the craziness at the blue faced genie!! it’s too much!
