InactiveOk, so I went to Walmart to find some Mylanta Cherry Supreme. All they had were the following (I bought both hoping one is right)
1. Mylanta Maximum strength Antacid, Antigas, Fast Acting, soothing relief of heartburn, acid indigestion, sour stomach, classic flavor, cherry. Ingredients: Aluminum Hydroxide 400mg, Magnesium hydroxide 400 mg and simethecone 40mg.
2. Mylanta Ultimate Strength Antacid. Relief of heartburn even when it breaks through, can be used while on a rx strength heartburn medicine, fast acting. Cherry. Ingredients: Aluminum hydroxide 500mg, magnesium hydroxide 500 mg.
These were the only two choices cherry flavored – any ideas??

Inactivethe ultimate is new, havent tried it.
they both have aluminum which is contoversial.
you would have to go to osco or walgreens for the supreme one.

InactiveI’m sure it would be fine to use it until you find the Supreme version. I’m surprised your walmart doens’t carry it. That’s where I bought Mylanta Cherry Supreme. I hope they haven’t discontinued the Cherry Supreme and replaced it with this new (maximum strength) version. I see they added Simethicone (for gas). That’s great for gassy babies, but I’d want the aluminum free stuff for long term use. Since you will only need it for a short time (hopefully), I really think either one would be just fine. The second one is stronger, so probably use a little less.
How’s Abby feeling? I suspect that she’s still not feeling well since you are asking about Mylanta.

InactiveThanks for the help ladies – I always can count on you!!
Last week, Abby was started on Amoxicillin for a really bad cold and Prednisolone for croup. She started both on Thursday and on Sunday (during church no less) she barfed. I thought it was just cuz she was eating one of her gerber fruit puffs and she gagged but we realized it was more when she barfed her lunch all over herself in the car seat when we were buying pumpkins. We started her on pedialite and she seemed mostly fine on Monday. Then Monday night, Kayla barfed, my husband barfed and Abby was looking much better. So Abby went to daycare today while hubby and Kayla stayed home. I got a call at 1:00 and Abby had just barfed twice. I went to get her and she had barfed again. So… I took her to the doctor and he said (which I thought all along) that she wasn’t doing well with the antibiotic and it was making the flu bug she had worse. So we stopped that and he said to keep her on pedialite today and part of tomorrow and gradually get her back on formula. I guess the theme for today at our house is trick-or-barf.
So, to make a very long story short, I think Abby is looking much better tonight, Kayla is totally recovered and hubby went to bed early (WIMP, WIMP, WIMP) How totally pathetic!!

InactiveRobin,
Glad to hear the girls are feeling better.
As for DH, men are allowed to be wimps. It makes me so mad. Mine will lay in bed like the mortally wounded when he has a cold or tummy ache, while I take care of all three children two days after surgery.

BTW…have you healed completely from your surgery?

Inactive6 weeks ago I had a hysterectomy and no joke you would have thought he had the surgery. Men are so wimpy. I had to do everything from the time I got home. Thank God my doctor made me stay one night or I would have been in much worse shape. Men think you are supposed to be super women.

Yep, feeling good (finally)!! Turned out to be the pain pills causing my problems. I couldn’t breathe, which caused my pain to be worse, so I kept taking the pain pills, which really didn’t help at all. I quit them and 6 hours later, I was breathing fine and feeling much better. Being able to breathe well is such an important part of pain control. Of course, it took Dr. Robin to figure out what the problem was (after seeing 4 different doctors). IDIOTS!!
Thanks for asking

InactiveRobin did they check you blood pressure during the time you had problems breathing? I know that certain pain medication for me causes my blood pressure to drop in to dangerous levels. It may be something to find out so you will know if you ever need pain meds again.

InactiveOMG, Robin. I would have never in a million years thought of that. I probably would have just popped a few more.
It’s a good thing you figured out what the problem was, it will be good to know that in case you ever need pain meds again.Glad to hear you’re feeling better.

InactiveKathleen,
Your post made me laugh.
My dh had a vasectomy after Myles’ birth and I’m not kididng you….he laid around and moaned like the living dead for 16 straight days!! You would have thought they had cut the whole thing off!!
And yet when I was pregnant and mentioned to him the possibility of a C-Section (thank God I didn’t need one) he told me that the nurses he works with all said a woman should be fine after 24 hours!!!!! Yeah, right!ndrose2006-11-1 21:15:7

My hubby gets to have that special surgery on Dec 8. I think the girls and I will take off for that weekend so I don’t have to endure the moaning and groaning. Aren’t they special

InactiveChristine,
Oh we did the whole vasectomy thing too. He took two weeks off of work. Then I had to hear him complain for months after. Two weeks after my hysterectomy I was back to karate. What is it? I really don’t understand but I do know this is why God had women have babies instead of men.
