Ariella has been IMPOSSIBLE lately. She’s teething and is very cranky ALL DAY LONG!! She wants to be held 24/7. DH says that I’m spoiling her and I’m hoping that it’ll pass and she wants to be held b/c she’s in great deal of discomfort. Am I wrong to think that it’ll pass? Am I creating a monster?
Oh, it will pass! I’ve had two “cling on” babies and they both outgrew it!! Not only is she teething but 8 months is an age at which separation anxiety can become very intense. Hang in there. It will get better.
Lets face it, most kids don’t end up clinging to their mummys at the gates of the Highschool. But seriously, be the mummy you want to be…let her cling, give her comfort…they are only little once. It can get a bit annoying, Alana was like that around the time of her first two teeth, but she’s better now. Actually she’s better at coming over and giving me a big hug now, so all that clinging helped her practice “loving her mummy”.
