Last night I had a meeting and was not at home at bedtime (this happens about 2x/month). Cooper was fine when I left but when I came home I heard screaming when I was in the driveway, the windows were open thank goodness. I run in the house, grab cooper from dh and he immediately stops crying and puts his head on my shoulder and is asleep within 5 mins…. What the heck??? He has never done that before, but dh said he tried everything and that cooper was fine until he tried to put him to bed and he had been screaming for 45 min before I got home…. I felt horrible. Anybody experience this before?? Any suggestions other than having dh put him to bed some nights when I am home? TIA.
I leave dh a list of things that i exactly do for Kendra before bed time and ask him not to change too much. My kids like routine a lot and when somehting is not done the “same way” they get out of wack. After a while Kendra got used to daddy and now he does things a bit different, but kendra doesn’t mind too much. I hope that helps.
Justice is so bad he won’t even go to my husband when it’s close to bedtime. If my husband even trys to hug him he freaks. Of course, my husband rarely puts him to bed and when he does Justice usually doesn’t nurse before hand. That is not always the case, but some times it is. All that to say, I have no idea why that is. If you figure it out though, let me know.
Dh and I take turns putting them to bed every night so they’ll be comfortable with both of us. (We each put one of the girls down every night.) Even with that, Kaelyn is going through a phase right now where she tries to insist that I put her to bed because she likes the way that I read to hre. Dh still puts her to bed, but it has definitely been more of a challlenge. We’re trying not to give in to her because we don’t want to set a bad precedent.
