We decided to admit my dd in order to get her seen by a GI specialist. It was the BEST thing we ever did for her. She was there for 5 days and we got a lot of answers that would have taken weeks otherwise.
To answer your question: with my older dd, her symptoms were constipation, excessive spit up, constant screaming. With my younger dd, her symptoms were refusal to eat and rashes.
I forgot to add that after I finally convinced the doctor that dd had a problem with milk, I found the research that shows that 25% of babies react to milk with constipation rather than diarrhea. Our ped kept saying that it couldn’t be a milk problem because she didn’t have diarrhea.
