Well, here I am again with another question. About a week ago we switched our son from Prevacid Solutabs to Zegerid 20mg packets because we thought his eczema might be a reaction to the lactose in the solutabs and it was hard timing the medicine with eating. We were told to give him 5ml twice a day, even though the Marci dose is different. He now is back to not wanting to eat as much, which was very little to begin with anyway, and now gags again at times. He is also waking up earlier in the morning and needing help to get back to sleep. He spits up occassionally as well, which is something he hasn’t done in awhile. His eczema seems to have gotten worse, too. My question is, since he is 20.8 pounds at 19 months, is 5ml twice a day not enough? Is that why he is having all these symptoms? His doctor thinks his dose is correct, but I don’t think it is. I thought a week would be long enough to see it take effect since he has already been on a PPI, but maybe it isn’t. What dose of Zegerid do your toddlers take who are similar in age and weight as mine? Thank you so much for listening.
