Zegerid retrial

Well, my GI nurse called and as usual, they won’t budge on the dose (I even told her I LOST MY JOB OVER HIS GERD SYMPTOMS!), but she encouraged me to try Zegerid again. Funny, they are BIG into Zegerid, but say Landen only needs 14mg/day! So I told her fine, but I needed the 40mg packets called in bc of the sodium content in the 20mg packets…so she’s calling them in. My ONLY concern is that she said “these should last you a long time before you need a new RX . I’m really hoping there are refills on them, b/c I’ll be out in 30 days.

The first time we tried Zegerid Landen was sick (in daycare catching everything) so I’m hoping this trial goes better. He seems to need more than the 20mg nexium he’s on, he’s crabby, irritable, refluxing again, sleeping poorly…ughh!

Here’s hoping the zegerid does wonders this time around.

How much does he weigh? I think 14 mgs is going to be too low of a dose. He might be fussy because he is reaching that teething age. Plus around six months they go thru so many growth spurts and all that can aggrivate his reflux. Ugg. I am so sorry I just remember 6 months and it was really hard. I hope you get refills so you can give him a higher dose. Good luck.

Good luck with the trial Jill. I sure hope it makes a difference, and if not I hope you can find someone who will give you a higher dose.

I called the pharmacy, and she called in 40mg packets with 1 refill, so that will get me through his 7th & 8th month on the dose Dr Phillips recommends for his weight. I plan to tell them I increased the dose myself due to lots of crabbiness and “viola! new baby” and if they still don’t agree, it still gives me time to find a new GI doctor with the extra refill…

Oh geez Jill!! They say God never gives you more than you can handle but you’ve gotta be looking up at the sky right now like ” COME ON!!!!???”Anyway, I’m thinking of you two. Can you believe these babies will be 7mo soon? Wowzer….
