Hi,

Haden has been taking Zegerid for about 2.5 months with wonderful results. Even though he has steadily gained weight we have not needed to increase his original dose of 22 mg’s -3 times a day. He is now 5 months old and has two teeth At times, I still see signs of the reflux (watery eyes, coughing and face/nose rubbing) but he doesn’t seem to be in any pain.

My question is- those that give Zegerid 3x a day, have you had success with only giving it 2 times a day? I would continue to give the same mg’s but just more ML’s in the AM and PM. Before he definitley needed that midday dose because of breakthru episodes.

Those moms that are still in the throes of reflux – it does get better, slowly but surely it happens!! I NEVER believed it when we were in the middle of it but now that I look back I can’t believe how far we’ve come.

I know that Colt was 10 months old before we started giving it only two times a day. We have tried to stop it and we see him refluxing so I think we will continue for as long as we have too. I think I would ask Joel about this because up to a certain age they really need it 3 times instead of just two.

You could give the 2 doses/day a try for a while and see how it goes. But Dr Phillips doesn’t generally recommend giving less than 3 doses per day until a child is older than 2 years of age.
