Triaminic strips for cold

i would stick with the benadryl, if it were me. there are decongestant ingredients in the cold meds that are pretty controversial regarding babies…the fda is considering pulling cold meds for all kids under age 6.

Adriana just got over a bad cold. I used Benedryl at night a couple of nights which didn’t do much. I was too scared to use anything else and my doctor told me not to because those other cold meds have not been tested on children this young.

I tried Tylenol for any body aches but as soon as she would swallow it she would projectile vomit everywhere.

Basically I used a humidifier, some vicks type of rub for her chest and back, and I slept holding her upright in a chair for several nights. She could not sleep laying down.

Ok, so maybe it wasn’t the strips… he is currently in his bed, talking and has been for over an hour!!!! I don’t know if it’s the cold that’s making it difficult for him to sleep or what. I’ve been giving him Benedryl before his afternoon nap and at night. I didn’t want to give it to him in the morning too, but maybe I need to so he can get some rest.

I wondered about him getting “addicted” to that drowsiness before sleep. hmmmm… maybe I’ll try to skip the benedryl tomorrow and see what happens. I just want to give him some relief!
