Hello Ladies… I am in desperate need of help
Where I can find Neocate infant formula at the lowest cost??? A little about us. My name is Heidi
My DD Kaitlyn is 5 weeks old. Her history…Born @ 35 weeks ~ Birth weight 6-4
31 Day NICU Graduate
Respitory Distress ~ Ventalitor for 3 days * oxygen via nose canula for 4 days
Milk Soy Protein Allergy Diagnosed at 1 week of age
treated with zantac for week
Anti-fungal meds for loose BM’s
Tried on nutramigen but was unable to gain weight and diagnosed-Failure to thrive @ 2 weeks Weight 5-15
blood in stool remains although only + on PH paper
Neocate ~ finally putting on weight. Weight as of last thursday 7-3
Loose stool/blood in stool
Does anyone Know if Health insurance covers Neocate since it is by perscription???

Unfortunately, our health insurance does not cover it. It is actually written into our policy, the namebrand Neocate is not covered!
I have resorted to buying on e-bay, but try to find “company” sounding names not just random people… If you understand what I mean. I was paying $30.79 a can and we were going through it like crazy, but now my son is almost 8 mo and has slowed a bit so it’s somewhat better.
I think the last I got off e-bay was $23 per can.
But insurance, medicaid, wic, etc would be where I would start. Also a thought is your local health dept. We didn’t qualify for any of these as they are income based.

I have to call her insurance company tomorrow. (Keystone Mercy) How would I go about finding out who the CEO is if there is a problem??? She is on Medicaid & our state’s insurance. We have WIC and are waiting for them to get shipment. Erica ~ Who do you buy Neocate from on E-Bay???

2) THEN, you find out the name & fax # of the SECRETARY (now called administrative assistant?) to the CEO…
3) THEN, you FAX everything to HER (usually it’s a ‘her’ – might be a he
4) THEN you get RESULTS!!!!!!!!!!!

It was also written in our policy that it was not covered (it strictly said Neocate was an RX not covered BUT…you don’t know me
)…it is covered now. I appealed it. It is FOOD for crying out loud! And my baby needed it to thrive. I fought them. I had to buy a months supply on my own and fax the receipts, but I was reimbursed FULLY and will be for each supply I buy. Sometimes you just have to fight them on it. If they say no, tell them you need to appeal it and get your GI doc involved, they will usually cover it if GI tells them that the baby will end up in the hospital without it. HTH!
