zantac question (Help)

Zantac does work for many people, and their babies go on to be happy and comfortable babies. The thing is, that these people aren’t usually the ones who are on these kinds of sites b/c their kids feel better. Most of us on these sites have needed PPIs for our babes to get relief, but that doesn’t mean that H2 blockers don’t work… it just means that we’re kind of a skewed sample! I’d try to stay positive, and hopefully it will work for your son. If you start to see symptoms resurface, you can ask to have his dose adjusted, and hopefully that will be enough to do the trick. If not, you’re ahead of the game with all the knowledge you’ve gained here, and you can ask for a PPI. Good luck. Hope the zantac works.

One of my friends had great success with Zantac. Her little one is a day younger than Alana and only even needed Zantac to control her reflux. So hopefully your bub will be OK, but if not, like Lori said, you have the info you need to help your bub before it gets out of hand.

Zantac never worked for our middle son, Jonathan, but at the time we didn’t know of anything else, so we just stuck it out. It DOES work for some though as others have said. I hope it continues to work for your litte one!

if the zantac (or any med) is ‘working’ then sometimes you do see sleep as an effect because the poor baby is finally comfortable enough to sleep…

Perhaps divide your dose into three and space it out that way? That was the way I gave it prior to a PPI. As long as you don’t go over you max dose in a 24hr period I’m not sure it would matter, but of course I’m not a Dr!
