what's up with you?

Colton is 28 months and still isn’t talking. He has found some words but nothing like most children his age. The doctors are not concerned because they claim that its because he has older brothers who answer his little whines. He is still on a nightly dose of Zegerid and still on Goodstart formula. He recently failed his milk trial but he is teething too so its too hard to figure which is the cause. He eats like a pig and drinks water by the gallons. He still doesn’t sleep very well at night but he is getting over an ear infection. Other than that he is so perfect and he is a joy to be around. All in all the reflux baby I had has turned out to be my prince. I think the reflux made us closer to him and he is great.

Alana is doing well. Still meds free and no sign of reflux. We are still on Pepti Junior and no milk until we see the paed in 2 months time. Her recent ear infection has cleared and she is back to her smiley, happy self. She had her first big girl haircut on the weekend, ready for her 1st birthday (we are going to the ZOO). Alana took her first steps about three weeks ago. She likes to do a combination of walking and crawling. Her biggest achievement so far is walking about 2 metres. She now has three teeth, with three on the way (no need to save for the dentures). She is the most wonderful, adorable little girl in the world and I feel truely blessed to be her mum.

Good luck with the toilet training! It can be a challenge.

So good to hear updates on everyone!

Bryce still has reflux. Although we had a two week slide where his vomiting got really bad again (due to a runny nose), his vomiting has really gotten much better the last few months. We took him to a 5 day Craniosacral Therapy treatment last week. We had a great opportunity to work with a craniosacral therapist who came out from Florida and she specializes in pediatric CST. She’s actually been working with another child with Kabuki syndrome with her therapy she took this little boy from 100% tube-fed & suffering from horrible reflux to eating completely by mouth and reflux free!! Unfortunately, because she lives in Florida, we can’t work with her as extensively as this child did, but after 5 days of the therapy, Bryce ate 3 oz. by mouth from a sippy cup. More than he ever has in his entire life. Needless to say, I’m no longer skeptical about the therapy. It also seemed to help him developmentally and he finally got the hang of pulling to standing and starting making tons more sounds. Luckily our next door neighbor is also a very experienced CST therapist and will continue to work with him – for free. What a blessing. They think they can get to the bottom of his reflux. I sure hope so.

So that’s where we are. Just continuing to work on his oral eating & developmental skills and still dealing with reflux. He also got his DAFO’s a few days ago.

This was a great idea! Isaac is still on Prevacid and still showing signs of reflux. He sees a therapist at children’s hospital , group therapy thru EI and he will have an evaluation with a physical therapist soon. He is now at the point where he is touching foods and we are hoping to get to the point where he actually eats them soon. He is still on pediasure and he obviously has no plans of dropping the pediasure any time soon lol. He is really a happy little boy most of the time!
