Just thought I’d share my Neocate story.
I had to put my daughter on Neocate for the reason of a milk-protein “allergy.” I have twins and did not breast feed, but from what I understand (and what is confirmed in that link posted by hellbennt), she could not have done breast milk, either. By her third week after birth, she had started developing collitis. We did not know that initially, and tried her on Soy formula, then Nutrimigen (which most infants do fine on if they have a “milk allergy,”) and then at three+ months old, Neocate. That is what finally did the trick.
Granted, we still have Reflux and some colic we’re dealing with, plus behavioral stuff (won’t go to sleep without a huge fight) because she’s used to being held. We held her to soothe the pain from the collitis. She’d been such an easy baby! Now we’re dealing with that end of things.
