Zantac making things worse?

Zantac can burn as it goes down those tender little throats. If I’m not mistaken, I think we were told to put the Zantac in the bottles of formula – which I realize you cannot do when you nurse. What about pumping and using a bottle for the feeding with the Zantac? For some reason, I’m also thinking we have mixed it with Mylanta… but it’s been so long ago, I cannot remember. Unfortunately, Zantac never really worked for either of my two refluxers. With my first child, that is all we had – that and Reglan *sigh*. With my second son, we had him on Prilosec at 7 weeks old. Thought I was gonna lose my mind with his bout of reflux.

Syringe of zantac & also some mylanta. It’s hard to find, check store brand equivalent like cvs brand, etc. Look @ the ingredients & look for variety w/o aluminum…look for Prevacid 101 link, has all ppi info but also link for zantac dosing hellbennt2011-04-11 18:34:02

Have you checked zantac dose? It’s very weight sensitive, how much does he weigh?

My ped. must have seen the same study. She told me that the h2’s are just as effective as ppi’s. I don’t understand even if study is correct, why not try one if the other doesn’t work? Arrggghhh.

I will try to ask my ped about it. i am calling for a gi refferal tomm. and i’ll ask about it. It’s strange b/c she is usually so understanding. Been seeing her for 12 years but that really threw me.
