Hi,
I havent been around in a while but was just wondering if there are any other food ideas that you can recommend. Nick still cant tolerate milk/soy, but just thought I would throw the idea out there to see if you MSPI moms have any other suggestions. We are stuck on Chicken patties, Dinty Moore Beef Stew and Spaghetti and poor Nick is getting tired. Thanks for the help, I appreciate it! Can he have eggs? If so, how about french toast?
Tuna? My kids eat it on crackers. A little mayo to hold it together works well.
Meatballs. One of my girls loves them, the other hates them.
Beans….my three all like Lentil Soup. Sometimes they’ll eat chick peas…you can make hummus out of chick peas and let him eat it on crackers.
Of course, fruits and veggies of all kinds!!! I buy them raw, fresh, frozen, dehydrated….you name it!
Have you tried goat’s cheese or milk? I know that many babies who can’t tolerate cow’s milk also cannot tolerate goat’s milk, but it may be worth a try.
November 4, 2006 at 10:34 pm #17211hellbenntKeymasterthere’s a link from the stickied ‘Groupie Intro’- (that’s in the Introduce Yourself Forum)
and, from there, scroll down to the section: “what can I feed my GERDling?”
and there you will find links to long threads discussing this very topic– lots of suggestions
HTH!

Anyway, Ian’s makes fish sticks that are MSPI safe (you may have to go to a health food store for them but I have also found them at SuperTarget and Kroger). Those were a big staple for us. Other ideas are SMILE fries, sweet potato fries, cubed deli turkey, spiral pasta with marinara sauce, I think the Dinty Moore chicken and dumplings are safe. Chicken nuggets, veggies like cooked frozen peas, green beans, carrots were a hit. Applesauce, banana. I always felt like he was eating the same things all of the time too!!
There is a list of MSPI safe foods out here somewhere that helped me a lot. I will bump it up. If I think of anything else I’ll let you know.

-lentil pasta with ground beef, peas, olive oil, little garlic
-applegate farms organic turkey frank w/out skin and cut small, Ian’s sweet potato fries, corn
-mac and chreeze (I find it in whole foods-dairy and gluten free!). Make with rice milk and margerine. Ian’s favorite! You could mix in applegate cold cut meat and carrots?
-I make turkey meatballs with grated apple in them that he likes too. Simple and sweet for them. You could serve with rice.
-toast or bread with puree veg on top
-Muffins with substitutes for dairy always good for on the side
-Meatloaf with veggies and rice cereal (crunchy rice chex crushed up) in it. Meatloaf is great to stuff veggies in there. You can use chick, turkey, beef or ground lamb.
Hope this helps!
