Hi just joined
My lo is nearly 6 months from birth he has had really bad acid reflux and colic we have been through the following milks:
Sma gold ready made
Sma gold powder
C&g 1
C&g 2
C&g comfort
Infasoy
Pepti junior
Nutramigen
Nutramigen AA
Neocate with carobel
Wysoy
He has been on gaviscon and domperidone and the docs assume he has a cows milk protein allergy hence all the different milks.
He reacts on all the formulas so I’m not convinced he has, I have finally settled him on wysoy as he seemed the best on it.
Ranitidine was prescribed and he screamed non stop for a week so now we are on omeprazole and things have improved dramatically, except now he has gastroenteritis and can’t keep any of his milk or meds down.
I know for sure he can’t tolerate eggs(projectile vomiting) but I’m not convinced about the cows milk. I hate pumping him full of meds and hormones in soya milk, has anyone any insight or suggestions pls ?
April 2, 2013 at 7:59 pm #71929hellbenntKeymastereggs at this young age?
I would not give any proteins to a baby this young, especially one w/ a sensitive digestive system…
I don’t know what to say about soy- you have to get him to eat something…
what’s gastroenteritis? is it from the soy? how long did you give each formula? you need to give each one a good two weeks, at least…

I have tried to keep to the same food item for at least 5 days and if he reacts stop that food and try again at a later date to confirm.
With reference to the milk he has stayed on them all for over two weeks except the pepti as he was gagging and choking in his sleep.
I just think that he can’t be that sensitive and maybe it was just a case of getting the right meds.
I have looked at so much info and tried that many things with the poor boy I don’t even trust my judgment any more. I’m just desperate to do the best for him and help him feel better.
Gastroenteritis is a bad bug (norovirus)

It is so hard to see watch our babies suffer. 🙁 Especially when we are trying our best to do everything possible that we know to do to help them! I hope that soon you will find the right answers and help you are looking for!
I wish so badly that I had lots of time and that I could write out a long reply to you but I don’t. I NEED to be in bed sleeping now as tomorrow is another big full day. 🙁 So for now I will suggest that you please take a look at my blog and read the different pages on there that you think might be of help to you.

Martha I had already come across your blog a while ago and it really makes sense. I had an infection when I was 8 months pregnant and needed several courses of antibiotics and so taking into account what you found I have probiotics (biogaia) for him and started them a few days ago.
So thankyou for the insight. Also looking into alkaline water

If they don’t help though, it is most likely because they only have one strain of probiotics in them. I believe that the best are ones that have at least 10 strains in them.
