I’m just nauseous thinking about it

my friend’s husband was on that plane

they have 2 small children

a boy jonah’s age

and a 2yr old girl

we were in a mommy group together when her son & jonah were babies- I spent time with her every week for about a year and 1/2 – we didn’t see each other much at all since Ari was born (a year now) but we’ve stayed in touch & I would consider her a friend more than an aquaintance…

just wanted to talk to someone…

Oh Laura,

Wow. I can’t imagine what you’re feeling right now. I can’t imagine what SHE’S feeling right now. I have no idea what happened, was it an accident? Gosh you know these things never make sense. Especially since he’s leaving a young family behind……..I truly can’t imagine. I don’t know, speaking from a religious standpoint, I have to believe that God has a reason in all of this. I remember when my grandpa died and people would say that and I was so angry and confused with God that I just rolled my eyes but for me, this is what I know is true. It’s not fair and it doesn’t make it hurt any less but there is a purpose I believe. I don’t know if that helps or makes you feel even worse()but I will be thinking of your friend and praying that her and her sweet babies will get through this okay. I’ll be thinking of you too! I’m so, so sorry.

I’m so sorry, Laura. I’ll be thinking and praying for her family. All I think when I read that is that life is so unfair. What a tragedy.

Laura,

Is this the plane that almost went into the water and everyone survived or is it another crash? I haven’t had much time to watch the news, but I did see something about that this a.m. on the news. I sure hope it was that one, but in any case either way it sucks and is very scary to think how easily life can be taken away from you esp when you least expect it. I hope your friend and her kids are doing okay. I hate to fly myself and these types of things make me hate it even more.

There was a plane crash on a runway in Brazil. It overshot (or went off) the runway and I believe that it crashed into a gas station or gas tanker. Everyone on the plane and at least 15 people on the ground died. My details might be off, but you get the picture.

Laura, I’m so sorry to hear about your friend’s husband. I can’t even imagine what she is going through right now, or how you are feeling. I’ll keep both of you in my thoughts and prayers.

thanks everyone. I just called her house & her family is all there- her parents & aunt flew in & more are on the way…

I spoke a bit w/ her aunt & left my name & number in case one of her other friends, who is her neighbor, needs to contact me as she starts to coordinate meals and such. I just feel so bad for her!

Her aunt said that if she stays in town (she’ll have to decide what to do, as she & her dh lived in miami bcse of his work & all of her family is up North) then that would be a great time to organize meals for her & the kids for a couple of months…I agreed.

Oh Laura – I am so sorry to hear this. I saw the story on the news this morning. I cannot imagine the devastation their family and friends must be feeling right now. I think meals are a great idea and she is lucky to have such a good friend.

Gosh, I can’t imagine what she’s going through right now. Sorry to hear about it. I hope they pull through these rough times as a family. Good idea on helping them out. Very thoughtful. They need all the help they can get right about now. How terrible 🙁

I just saw the story on the news. I obviously saw a different crash this morning… I sure was hoping it was the one I had heard about. I feel horribly for your friend. I can only imagine. It is good to know she has good friends like you around to help her out in the months to come. She is in my prayers.
