Allimentum to Neocate

For some reason a corn allergy comes to mind when you talk about how many diapers she is going thru. Its probably a couple of different allergies or intolerances but if you have the runs with Neocate you would start thinking corn. I know this doesn’t help because it still leaves you with the what do we do problem. I really hope you can get some help soon.

Unfortunately, we’ve not reached the “solid poo” yet…in fact today we have the opposite problem……complete liquid poo….ugh.

It’s certainly hard to go through life’s tests alone. We all need help sometimes.

ok…now i am also starting to wonder if she cant tolerate the corn….that is really strange about the liquid poos. i dont know what else you could give her though, everything is corn based

I’m hoping the horrible liquid diapers are from her overeating.
That her little body just can’t absorb all that formula she’s taking
in. So she just poops it out before her body can even digest it.

I tried to not feed her so often, but she would scream and get so upset
if I wouldn’t give her a bottle that I just couldn’t stand to see her
cry.

Hopefully we’ll get something figured out.

Went for Addy’s 4 month shots yesterday…she weighed 9 lbs 14 oz…so
she’s about 2 l/2 lbs. below what she should be in a perfect
world…but, at least she’s gaining a bit each week. The Neocate
hasn’t been the miracle we were hoping for, but it’s only been about l
l/2 weeks that she’s been on straight Neocate. The dirty diapers
are still too frequent and runny I feel.

She started running a l02 temp this morning at 5:30…very fussy, but I hope by tomorrow she’s feeling better and eating more.

She sees the GI Dr. again on the 26th…I really, really hope that he’ll let us try her on a little bit of cereal.

The Neocate just doesn’t seem to fill her up. She always acts like she’s starved.

At least the Peditrician thought she seemed really good. Although
she’s really tiny, she’s up to par for all her motor skills, etc.

Thanks so much for the update! I’m glad to hear she’s still gaining, but too bad she’s still having loose stools. Hope the fever goes down soon – could be a result of the shots. Could she take some tylenol?
