My DD is just about four months and had some reflux issues that started about a week after she was born. She was put on Zantac until she was just about three months old. She seemed to be doing better and her doc took her off her meds. We eventually stopped using the incline sleeper… Stopped neediing to hold her upright for 30 minutes + after eating…We could even go in the car within an hour of her eating. It was wonderful. She seemed to spit up just a regular amount fo spit up. The silent reflux stopped. Ever the hiccups lessened. She would even let us do tummy time. It felt like we had turned the corner.
Last week my doc put me on antibiotics for a urinary track infection. Yesterday the projectile vomitting returned…the need for multiple outfits returned. Today the silent reflux is back. She spit up practically everything that went in. Holding her up right after feeds did nothing. She hates tummy time. She was on her back and spit up until her mouth was so full she couldn’t get it out or breath, I had to turn her over to empty her mouth. The she spit up a thick green chunky spit up.
Her doc doesn’t seemed concerned. Could the antibiotics be causing this? Did her meds just finally completely work their way out of her system? Do I wait it out? Do I request more meds?
I just don’t know what to do.
