My son just started pepcid. So far it looks like most eveyone has success on prevacid. That is what worked for my first son, but I am wondering if the pepcid has actually helped anyone else. I will do whatever I need to do to help my baby, but the pepcid was 135.00 and I would hate to waste it. Today is the 5th day on it. He actually has had 4 feedings now without pulling off and he has been asleep on his side in his bed for 2 hours now. It seems like it might finally be working , but am I just fooling myself?
My first daughter had great success on Pepcid, of course her reflux wasn’t nearly as bad as my second daughter’s. She was on it until she was 8 months old, then outgrew the dose and has been good ever since. We tried it on my second daughter when she was first diagnosed but it didn’t cut it at all.
Like all meds, it works for some and not for others. Just have to keep trying until you find the right solution
What I found is yes, there are those that find success with meds like pepsid/zantac/tagament/axid. Ususally, those are the ones who stop posting…
then, I find that there are those that find success w/ these meds, and then seem to plateau on them somehow…then those babies ‘move on’ to PPIs (prevacid, prilosec, nexium, protonix)…
Thank you. I will see what happens and let you know. Hopefully something will work. It seems like this might be working, but I have heard that pepcid and Zantac work for a week and then stop working most of the time. I know that was true with my first son. He took Zantac for a week and I thought it was all better and then went back to the crying all over again.
