Anyone from or know about Montgomery, AL?

My husband and I might be moving to Montgomery, AL soon (very soon). I was wondering if anyone on here knows anything about the city? We are only 45 minutes away from there now but the housing costs are much lower there and we need a larger home very soon. I wanted to know what areas are good and have good schools. Also, what hospital has a good women’s dept. TIA

I work in Montgomery and live right outside of the city. You need to definitely stay on the east side of Montgomery. Most neighborhoods east of Taylor Road or around Taylor Road are good neighborhoods and zoned for the best public schools. Although, the public school system in Montgomery is lacking in a lot of areas. You can also consider Pike Road, they are working on building a public school that will probably be much better than the Montgomery schools. However, it may be another 3 years before their school is completed, but at least for now they are zoned for the best Montgomery schools. If you have any other questions, please let me know. My parents moved to Montgomery when I was a baby, and I have grown up here and know a lot about the city.
