After two full weeks of Zegerid trial, we are switching to Nexium. I think the sodium bicarb was just too much for his system as we never saw any improvement. My question is this, for those out there with babies on Nexium, what is the dose you are on?

We are starting DS on 5mg twice a day, he’s 14 pounds and 7.5 weeks old. Is this a good starting point, or a low dose? There aren’t any recommendations out there, and I feel a little lost. We are on day 3 and there is slight improvement but I suspect we are going to need to put him on more.jolines2012-01-08 22:09:56

most likely a low dose- do a search – upper right hand corner of page- search all forums and search ONE YEAR AND OLDER

key word nexium

in prevacid 101 is dosing chart for prevacid and prilosec- they are ‘similar’ not too far off from one another so I would seriously just average to get a feel for nexium dose…
