Hi ladies
I am looking into carriers as I think I will probably need one when my little linebacker arrives. DH wants me to stick with the Baby Bjorn (which I hated and hardly used) but I am leaning towards a babyhawk except for the price… the moby looks great, but I am afraid I won’t be able to do it quickly, but the price is right. I need advice/input/success stories to help me make this decision. I know many of you have multiples and if that is the case give me pros/cons of them all. TIA.

Neither of my babies liked cradle position, so this works. I don’t use it really around the house though. I DO take it with me everytime we go out though. I wear it in the grocery store, WalMart, the mall, the park, on walks. Madden will not sit in the carseat/stroller/cart and HAS to be held. He falls asleep EVERY time. I can put it on by myself and don’t need help. It can be used in front or back and up to 40 lbs. They have SO many fabrics to choose from. The only con I can think of is that the straps are really long and they seem to fall into puddles when I put them on in parking lots. Obviously, not really a big deal!
November 30, 2009 at 7:46 am #64766hellbenntKeymastertry an Ergo- look for one on sale or even on Craig’s list- or even the FSOT (for sale or trade) Forum on thebabywearer- you can’t buy (at TBW Froum) unless you have a certain number of posts, but I’d buy it for you and you could always send me the money, etc…
I say ergo bcse your dh might even use it- it’s more ‘manly’ lol than a babyhawk. now don’t get me wrong, I love the babyhawk, but there are ties to tie and my dh didn’t like all of that- we did have a Yamo (another ‘brand’ of Ergo) and he did wear that! he even wore a very plain kangaroo korner cotton pouch…
anyway, a Moby is great but it’s ‘just’ for the first early part & since you’re having a line-backer, LOL, your baby will get too heavy for it fairly quickly
I voted other, by the way, bcse as you know I think you need them all HA!
but it’s true- different carriers for different situations…December 3, 2009 at 10:28 am #64871AnonymousInactiveBeth,
I have the Moby as I think you know & I wouldn’t have survived the 1st 3-4 mths w/ him & Brodie together w/o it (seriously).
I wore Evan in it until 9+ mths old (probably 15-16lbs+) & it worked GREAT.
I haven’t tried the BabyHawk b/c the Moby worked so well for us (I guess it looks like that’s the only one we didn’t try-lol) so can’t speak for that but I didn’t like the HotSling (well, Evan didn’t either really) & Evan hated the Bjorn & Snugli.
