InactiveOkay, I know you are all thinking that my child is jealous. It’s me!

I almost feel bad for making this post, but hoping someone will set me straight!
We decided that we were having 2 kids boys or girls didn’t matter. Well, we have 2 boys and I want a girl!!!!
How bad am I!!!! This started cause I just got an e-mail from one of DH’s co-workers, they had a girl this morning. They have a boy and now a girl. Anyway, I’m having a feeling that if DH doesn’t get the big V done soon, I’ll be wanting another. Not that I would be dissapointed if it were a boy, just want to try!
Okay, for anyone who had infertility probs, I am soooooo sorry, this is really selfish of me to even feel this way b/c I know there are millions of women who want A CHILD and can’t have one. I got pregnant w/o “trying” both times!!!
Anyone out there with boys not planning more and feel the same way? Maybe I am looney!! You can tell me I am! And scold me too, cause I know I’m lucky to have 2 healthy kids!!

InactiveI’m the last one to scold you. All three of my babies were unplanned and I didn’t get married until I was 35 (!) so I am very fortunate to have three beautiful and healthy children. I feel so sorry for people who try and can’t conceive.

I don’t think you should ever feel selfish about wanting another child unless you are an unfit parent and the child you now want will not be lovingly cared for once born, and that’s obviously not the case with you. So, if you want more babies and you can accept another boy, why not??

Dh and I decided three would be it and he had the big V after Myles but I STILL feel a little sad and a little jealous everytime a friend or someone I know has a baby. Maybe that’s just the way women were created.

InactiveIt is such a personal decision. Personally, though, I AM SO DONE

We have two boys and I love them to death, but they are so time consuming now and I still feel like I don’t give them enough time as it is…….
You have to do what you think is right for your family, and big families are great, and so are small, it is what is right for you! Good luck with your decision, but it sounds like you want another.
There is nothing wrong with that….June 1, 2007 at 3:26 pm #35278Anonymous
InactiveI know what you mean. I have 2 girls love them to death, like Ann Marie said very time consuming, I think 2 is enough but I still always want that little boy! But after 2 refluxers, I would like that little boy to come from a different sperm donor!!!! HEEHEE, all this reflux and allergies are from DH side, we always joke around about another child a long as it is from someone else! But all in all we are done, 2 is enough for us, one for me to keep and eye on and one for him to watch! Good luck with your decision! I too am jealous, of the families with a boy and girl!

InactiveI think the wanting a girl is from the fact that I am close to my mom, my brother does nothing for her. We remember her on special occasions, he pays us for the flowers, presents, etc!!

This may also sound a little weird, but I’m already afraid that I’m going to get a horrible dil who won’t let me see my grandchildren or something like that!
Yes, I don’t even have my second child potty trained yet and I’m worried about these things!
But Sue and Ann Marie, you are right, I already feel like I don’t have enough hands for all that goes on around here! Ya gotta stop somewhere I guess! DH works too much, although it affords me to stay home, we are busy! Also, Owen is MSPI, reflux, how could I already have forgotten those bad days!!

InactiveLOL, guys! Christine, I’m sure you’re right!!!… I don’t look forward to the teenage years.
I really starting feeling like I wanted another one as Hailey’s b-day approached. We have two girls, who I love to death, one with seizures and one with a feeding aversion, so I know that my plate’s full right now, but I guess my heart isn’t ready to say we’re done. So I know where you’re coming from. I know a lot of moms who want to have a daughter, and that doesn’t mean that they don’t love their sons, and I know a lot of moms with girls that want a son, so it goes both ways. If you want to go for another, then go for it.
I keep thinking that I wish that they could be born as 6 month olds!… I’m not a big fan of the first 3-4 months.

Inactivewe were going to be done several times! i like to refer to sylvia as our “bonus”. when she was born, i was 40 and kevin was 47. i guess we were just really good at what we do!

InactiveWe say we’re done, but I’d love to have another. I just can’t afford another! The funny thing is, people keep asking if we’re going to have another to try for a boy, but I’d actually be just as happy having another girl. At least we already have all the girl “stuff”. And dh says he’d rather keep having girls because he already knows what to expect. I think his logic is flawed, but it’s kind of sweet. (Kaelyn is definitely a daddy’s girl, so I think it’s clouding his judgement.) I always thought I wanted one of each, but I love having 2 girls. Ask me again when I have 2 hormonal teenaged girls in the house!!!!

InactiveI am having baby fever right now. I also have two boys and really want to have a girl. When my husband and I got married we said we were only having two, but now I want four. After Justice being my second refluxer I decided I wanted to adopt two girls, but now I want to have one more biological child. I am hopeing for a girl, but it will probably be a boy. I would of course be fine with that, but like you really want a girl. I would love to have 2 boys and two girls. I already have my girl names picked out, but have no clue what we would name another boy. It was hard enough to come up with Justice’s name. Anyway, I know what you mean.

InactiveHeck we’re still measuring how old our latest one is in weeks, and we’re already talking about the next one.

What can I say, I guess this is my real job…I better get used to it since apparently I’m pretty good at it.
