InactiveSo Cooper’s diaper rash is almost gone after 10 days now. I ended up at the ped office on Thursday b/c it was sooo bad. And we pretty much left him totally diaperless on Thursday afternoon and most of the day Friday, which meant I did a ton of laundry. I have probiotics ordered so hopefully that will help. My problem is He has super sensitive skin as did I when I was a baby ( I had to use cloth diapers according to my mom b/c it was so sensitive). We haven’t been using baby wipes since this rash popped up. We have been using washclothes and warm water only. This of course makes it really difficult when you are out in public to chnage a diaper. Does anyone have a good baby wipe that seems to be really gentle on the skin? I have been using the Huggies Natural Care unscented ones since he was born, but I think I probably need something else if there is anything. TIA.

InactiveWhen Kaelyn’s diaper rash was that bad I used the Huggies disposable washclothes and brought a water bottle when we went out.

Keymastermany people who use cloth diapers also use cloth wipes, so I’m sure there’s a ‘system’ they use to be out & about with their cloth wipes

the top ranking brand is http://hyenacart.com/SMJAE/ – I bet you could email & ask how to go out & about with her wipes

InactiveAt Walmart in the section where there is cotton balls they have these really big square pads. They come in a big package and we take them and put them an old diaper wipe box and soak them with water. They work just as good if not better and there are no added chemicals. Then we we don’t have a diaper rash we use Pampers sensitive.

InactiveIf his bottom is that sensitive you may want to try using a really mild bath soap when you bathe him. My gilrs still break out on their bottoms when I use anything other than Dove Unscented bar soap.
As for the wipes, maybe you could try making your own. If you buy some really good paper towels (nice thick ones like Bounty), you can tear them and put them in a wipe container and then run water over them. They will stay moist in the wipe container for quite some time. (I used to do this when one of my babies had a bad diaper rash).July 9, 2007 at 2:52 pm #38879Anonymous
InactiveWe used to take thick paper towel and a spray bottle of water. You can saturate the paper towel, and it makes a good gentle wipe. (Not the easiest thing when you have a full poopy diaper, but it does work.)

InactiveI use lansinoh wipes on Brianna. She has a pretty sensitive bottom too. She breaks out with ALL the major brands (huggies, pampers, etc). they are supposed to be for breastfed babies, but I am still using them on Brianna even though she is on whole milk now, so I don’t think it matters. You actaully get them in the aisle that has the bottles and bottle sanitizers and breastfeeding accesories, not where the normal wipes are. Good luck!

InactiveThank you all for all the wonderful responses. I will have to try the papertowel trick. I don’t have to change him that often when we are out as I try to not have to feed him while we are out b/c I know he is going to have a bm and that is never fun in public, but sometimes you just have to do it. You all have such wonderful ideas that I would never think of.
