InactiveAnyone used this for their babies? Was it successful? We may be starting this soon, and I was curious about side effects, etc. We have used reglan and it made my little one restless and irritable. We are now on erytro. with no harmful side effects, but it isn’t working as well as we had hoped. Any stories would be greatly appreciated.

as for bethanocol:
to do a search: there’s the ‘search’ button located in the upper right hand corner of the screen
you put the key word/s you’re searching for
then you choose “Topic Subject” from the drop- down menu of “Search In”
then I like to choose “All Forums” from the drop- down menu of “Search Forum”
then I like to choose “Topic Start Date” from the drop- down menu of “Sort Results By” (this way I get all the posts from the past that might help me)
here it is

InactiveHey, me again! The only side effect from the bethanochol was it caused her to drool buckets. It really helped her sleep better too… caused just alittle drowsiness at first. I really didn’t worry about using this medication after going through the whole reglan ordeal, I was happy to find it. The docs. did say that it tended to have a “peak” and then the body got used to it so it didn’t work so well after a while, but I didn’t notice that.

InactiveWow, hard to believe this kid could drool more! Reglan did a number on us. Hopefully we won’t have trouble with this one. Thanks.

InactiveKaelyn was on it for about a month. The first week or so, it made her really wired. She acted really weird. After that, she was fine on it. Unfortunately, it didn’t work for her, so we stopped using it. In our case, I’m not sure that she really needed it. We never did a test for delayed gastric emptying, the ped GI just decided that she was spitting up more than what she felt a 9 month old should be. So, in the end, we just decided that Kaelyn was a very spitty baby. At that point, her reflux was basically under control, she was happy most of the time, and we were just trying to cut down on the spitting.
