I breastfeed (well, I express milk
), and so far I haven’t had any problems with eating acidic food. I guess each child could react differently though.I did the elimination diet and while I found that jonah was not mspi, I felt he did react to those foods you’re mentioning- I didn’t eat tomatoes & tomato products, citrus, eggplant or tuna (yes an odd one) for a year…
I did the dr sears elimination diet and that’s how I found out…when I added back tomato sauce he freaked out 4-5 hrs later- that’s how long it can take for the food you eat to make its way into you milk…we ordered in Italian food (we love chicken parmesian
) and I had already figured out that milk was ok, so the next thing I thought of was the sauce…tried spaghetti sauce again a few days later w/ the same reaction…so bye-bye tomato products…then I ate a pasta dish with some eggplant in it (no tomato sauce- it was a oil based pasta dish- I LOVE pasta
) and he reacted & I had been eating the other veggies in the pasta dish…so I experimented once again w/ eggplant & he reacted…bye-bye eggplant…then tuna- weird but he reacted once to seared tuna and once to tuna in sushi…bye bye tuna…
