Inactivei think its about time to go back on birth control
( i know i should have do it long long time ago
) anyways the problem is i used to be on a pill (since im pretty much allergic to other methods
) the only side effect that i had it was that i was prety much in a bad mood
since now i have a baby i dont want to be in a bad mood because of the hormones
what do you think??????July 27, 2007 at 1:11 pm #39964Anonymous
Inactivethat happened to me too.. that why i am off, but dh keeps pushing for me to go back on 😉
i would ask for a “light” hormone one.. it might not effect you too much.. the last one i tried was yaz and it was o.k.July 27, 2007 at 2:44 pm #39970Anonymous
InactiveYou could always do the natural family planning method, but trust me when I say that you have to get a book or something on the subject because it is not just about counting days. My dr. told me it was just about counting days and I got pregnant with Luke. I have a friend though that does it and she has never been pregnant until she wanted to be. I also can’t do birth control. It makes me moody too and the more I have learned about it the less comfortable I feel taking it.

InactiveI use an IUD called Mirena or something like that. Everyone will say that you are aborting a baby every month. NOT TRUE! If you read the research, it is a plastic little tube that is placed in the cervix and will not allow the sperm to reach the egg. It’s about the only option for me b/c I have high blood presssure and did not want to be on a pill. It also gives you very short periods. 1-2 days of very light bleeding. It has to be replaced every 5 yrs or if you want to have a child of course. My doc says it’s 99.9% effective, the best you can get according to him…..
I did not have any weight gain or mood swings although I never had that with the pill either.

Keymastertry a low dose pill like lo-esterin or yazmine?
the pills with the prefix ‘tri’ in them make me WACKO!!!!personally I don’t want to do the mirena- I’ve heard about mood stuff and lack of libido (well maybe that’s not so bad, LOL)maybe a ‘regular’ IUD?July 27, 2007 at 4:50 pm #39982Anonymous
InactiveLaura- you may be right about Mirena, like I said, I’ve never had any side effect from a pill or this IUD. Or maybe you should ask my dh about that!

InactiveAbstinence
but I can’t convince my husband!I never had a problem with the pill until after I had Alana. Now anytime I am on one I am constantly nauseous and tired!I’d probably try another one and see how you go. Perhaps one with a different mix of progesterone and eostrogen.July 28, 2007 at 8:29 am #40006Anonymous
InactiveIn our house, reflux is birth control!…. don’t tell me I’m the only one!
I don’t want to go back on the pill again b/c I was on it for a long time. We’ve started talking about the big V, though dh has about a million and one excuses why not to do it. He actually suggested I should get my tubes tied…July 28, 2007 at 9:07 am #40008Anonymous
Inactiveaww lori! i am sorry, my husband thinks he is tough, and says the same thing! I say to him, you know you are the one going to get the V, and he says yea right! ugh.
and yes, the pill made me tired too! and depressed feeling. i heard its because it doesnt allow you to absorb/or either sucks out the vitamin b12.July 30, 2007 at 9:23 am #40125Anonymous
Inactivemy friend uses a regular IUD and loves it. She can’t do the pill either. And then she also never has to remember or think about it at all…..
I was on the pill for years, but never knew I didn’t need it. Aww, all that bit$%iness for nothing.
It makes me have crazy mood swings as well, but now we know we don’t need it.July 30, 2007 at 9:29 am #40126Anonymous
InactiveWhat is it with husbands and the big V??? Sorry to hijack the post! My dh never wanted 2 but now after Owen and all the problems he certainly doesn’t want 3! But I called him one day at work and told him I was going to schedule him an appt and he flipped out! These men, I’d love to see them push a little human out of their body, then we can talk!

InactiveI used the pill for quite sometime and fater i had my first dd i refused to go back to it. It increased my appetite, making me eat more than i wanted to (i was fat), the mood swings were terrible and on and on i can go. i used the natural method for 3 years with sucess, after i weaned my oldest dd from teh brest. I bought a book called “A Cooperative method of Natural Birhth Control” by Margaret Nofziger. I did not use the thermoter method to find out when i was ovulating, instead i bought a ovulation device (we can now get it at CVS) where you put some of your spit on it wait about 5 minutes and you use this guide chart that tells you wether you are fertil or not according to teh shape of your dried saliva.
Although, It’s not as easy as it sounds. yo have to do careful counting and need to record teh date of your perios evry month. b/c i have short periods (26 days) we only have 7 safe days a month. the other days we used protection, if the mood arises. Also your hunny has to be supportive, very supportive.I have not been able to use it since kendra’s was born. we just use porection every time. i hardly have time to count anyhting anymore. If you need more advice or help or think you might be interested, pm me and i go in more details. It can be posible to use this method.Good luck what ever you decide. family planning is hard stuff to decide.July 31, 2007 at 6:56 pm #40246Anonymous

What i have read about this particluar comment is this. You ovulate every month while on the pill, that’s why you get your period, however the IUD or birth control pill all release hormones that make the uteros “unfriendly” for the fertelized egg to implant and that’s why some religuous people don’t like the pill or any hormone devices.i have an article i could share if anybody is interested on it.you do what works for you. -
