InactiveHas anyone here tried putting their baby in one of those bouncy chair infant seats? If so, have you noticed if it makes reflux worse?
Our little guy loves his, and does fine in it most of the day, but the last few nights he’s been waking up screaming and only a shot of Maalox will calm him down.

Inactiveno, for us it helped my son. he had to sleep in either that or in his swing for the first 6 months of his life. if i tried to lay him flat he would reflux and choke all night long. he still refluxed in his bouncy, but it was a lot less than laying flat in the crib.

Keymasterif you go to the upper right hand corner of the screen, you’ll see the ‘settings’ button & from there you’ll see ‘Edit Profile’ & from there you’ll see ‘signature’
if you put your baby’s age, meds, doses of meds, formula, etc
then I won’t have to ask about them all the time & bother you

so: maybe it’s the meds at night, or lack thereof?
what meds & what timing of them?

InactiveI use the bouncy seat during the day for 20minutes or more if I can get it after feeds. He still spits, but not nearly as much in the chair. He however doesn’t really enjoy being in it unless I am doing my best to keep him occupied.

InactiveBen spent ALOT of time in his bouncy as a little guy. It was the only place that I could put him after he ate where he wouldn’t throw up all over. He still refluxed, but not nearly as badly. Now… if you are using the vibrate mode on the seat, that may make it worse.. it seemed to bother Ben when we used that, so I stopped.

InactiveCaden loved his bouncer seat as a newborn up until 5 months when he started sitting up. Then, he would always strain to sit up the whole time he was in it. It always seemed way more comfortable for him than lying flat in his crib. He would ONLY nap in that seat or on my chest in the beginning, so for us it was a good thing.

InactiveI think it all depends on what kind of bouncy seat you have. If the baby is slouching than the reflux can be worse. We always swaddled Justice very tightly and then put him in his bouncy. That way his body wouldn’t slouch. Also, we left his legs out and just threw a little blanket over his feet. As the other ladies said he slept in his bouncy for a very long time. Once he outgrew it he went into an amby bed and then in bed with me. In bed with me nursing all night long is what worked best.
