This may seem really stupid, but does anyone know if you can bring back your milk? It hasn’t completely diminished, I still leak very occasionally. I have had a really hard time getting my milk to come in with my first and now again same problem with my son. Both my kids were premature, the difference being my son who is almost 6 weeks old has just been diagnosed with acid reflux and since I gave up on breast feeding now I feel really guilty… like I could have prevented this! I stopped before the problems started and there was so much pressure to be sure he gained weight! So if I start pumping again will it come back? Feeling terrible, please let me know. Appreciate it!
Awww, don’t feel terrible and it isn’t a silly question!!! I don’t really know the answer but I’m sure Laura will have something to say about it She’s a great bf advocate. Also,as a fellow bf mama,a lot of times when I had questions about bf and didn’t want the moms here to get too tired of me(),check out http://www.kellymom.com. That is a GREAT resource for bf questions and they respond so quickly to posts. They have LC answering a lot of the questions including other bf moms and are so great. I hope you can keep bf!(I bet there’s a way,I just don’t know it)For you and your lo. Here’s a BIG hug!!! Let us know how it goes!!
I think you can take Reglan (by rx from your doc) and some herbs that can help you relactate, but it would also involve lots of pumping and/or nursing. The kelly mom site probably has the info but I think the herbs are called Fenugreek and Mother’s milk.
I’ve read on ‘the boards’ to take: fenugreek & blessed thistle
take 3 capsules of each, 3x/day &
don’t panic if you smell like syrup!
oatmeal should help too!
