InactiveHi-
My son has MFPI and we have been unable to use any of the PPI powder mixes due to corn being an ingredient. I was not able to find a list of ingredients on the Buffer Babies website and have e-mailed them but not heard back. Can someone who uses Buffer Babies post the ingredients so I can see if he can have it? We are currently using Zantac syrup-but it is not quite enough. I would like to put him back on a PPI if possible.
Thanks!

InactiveThe 1st ingredient in BB is corn syrup solids unfortunately :(. My boys couldn’t/can’t do it either. They CAN do though Zegerid mixed w/ Tums Quik Paks (you can also mix with Mylanta instead if you want). Have you tried this?
OR you can put a Prevacid capsule (opened up) w/ 1/2 tsp of pureed pears or apples & administer that way.

InactiveWhen you mix the Zegerid with Tums are you using the powder packet or a capsule?
I am really frustrated because Nexium has corn in it, prevacid solutabs have corn & a milk ingredient, and the compounded Prevacid doesn’t seem to be helping. Zantac didn’t work for him.
I went to see an allergist yesterday who basically told me I don’t know what I am talking about and that there is no way my baby could be reacting to all of the things i am telling him and that I need to put him on formula…this is my second go-round with a child with multiple food protein intolerance-AAGHH. Sorry for venting-I am just getting VERY frustrated with my lack of anything to eat and a baby who won’t sleep!!!
Sound familiar anyone??? 🙂

InactiveDr. Phillips can give you a complete list of ingredients but I DO know that all buffer babies is corn free now. (as of January I believe). There is also now Caracream Max…it’s the “newest” thing from refluxsolutions. I don’t know a whole lot about it other than it’s cheaper than BB, has less sodium bicarbonate (which was an issue for a lot of LOs) and is “easier” b/c it’s a one bottle system instead of two. I’d ask him about the ingredients for it as well. Best of luck…keep following those mommy instincts! HUGS!!!
